Optimity announced today that Scandi Standard, the Nordic region’s largest chicken producer, has signed a contract to implement the Optimity Supply Chain Optimizer application to simplify planning at their major production sites.
Mats Nordqvist, CIO of Scandi Standard comments, “During the valuable ‘proof-of-concept’ period, Optimity demonstrated that they have an excellent industry knowledge and a strong application which meets all of our functional requirements. With Optimity’s Supply Chain Optimizer we will be able to find the optimal balance between our customers’ needs and our available supply and at the same time be able to understand if we can make decisions that will create a better balance. This will support our strategy both from an economical as well as a sustainability perspective.”
As Erik Sandberg, Managing Director of Optimity AB states, “We already recognize that Optimity is a great planning tool for the challenging Food and Beverage industry. In particular it caters very well with the additional complexity that exists in the meat industry, such as utilizing the whole bird, fluctuations in supply, and short expiry dates.“
The implementation will start in late October and will be rolled out across several sites during the next year.
