Petainer, a leading European PET and plastic supplier, has continued its ongoing planning improvement strategy by furthering its successful engagement with innovative planning solution provider Optimity. Having benefitted from the use of Optimity’s Demand Forecaster for the past year, Petainer has decided to invest more into the Optimity Solution by implementing Optimity’s Supply Chain Optimizer which will simplify the planning process and optimize the costs associated with meeting customer demand.
As Mike Hartman, Group Finance Directorat Petainer, comments, “We have been working with Optimity for over a year now and they have proved that they offer a very strong product and use highly skilled consultants within the Demand & Supply Chain Planning area. We will now make a rapid implementation of the Supply Chain Optimizer at our two major production sites to make sure we can deliver more value to our customers for less cost.”
Optimity’s Managing Director, Erik Sandberg, is pleased by the trend of existing customers continuing to engage in Optimity’s wide range of planning solutions. He states, “In particular we will help Petainer overcome some classic planning challenges such as seasonal stock build, batch size/set up time optimization, and constrained capacity in both production and their warehouses. Additionally Optimity will deliver plans that optimize profit, but still consider Petainer’s business rules and the Optimity Supply Chain Optimizer will visualize Petainer’s key decisions on strategic, tactical and operational level. “
Optimity was founded in Sydney, Australia in 2008 backed up by investment company Brooks Investment Pty Ltd. Since then Optimity has experienced fast growth and today has offices in Sydney, Auckland, Singapore, Stockholm, Göteborg, Malmö and now also Oslo.
