Rastelli Foods Group, the global premium meats and seafood provider, has teamed up with Optimity to improve customer service and streamline operations.

Steve Rossiter, Production Planner at Rastelli, says, “We didn’t have a dedicated planning system. As a result, production was just reacting to customer orders. Our customers liked the flexibility, but it wasn’t sustainable for us as a business. We need visibility of customer demand to optimize production…and the rest of the supply chain.

We looked at five different systems, but Optimity was always the benchmark. Being nimble is key to our success, and Optimity matches our speed. It’s an end-to-end supply chain planning solution that makes the complex look simple. It’s a dream for the end user, especially if you’re used to Excel.”

Rastelli is currently implementing Optimity’s Demand Forecaster, and Steve aims to use the forecast at the January S&OP meeting. “Getting a solid forecast will be a huge step forward for the business. Once that’s in place, we’ll move on to production planning and scheduling.

“I have huge confidence in the Optimity team. They know our industry. When we ask a question, they can answer it straight away. I think this speaks volumes about both their team and their products. And it’s been a pleasure working with them.”

Mark Walker, MD, Optimity North America, says, “Optimity is a great fit for food processors like Rastelli. It’s a team effort, and everyone is motivated to get the solution up and running as quickly as possible. We’re looking forward to the first go-live next month.”
