Hirsh Industries chooses Optimity Software to be its Supply Chain System of Record

Boulder, CO, May 12, 2020

Hirsh Industries, one of North America’s largest manufacturers of filing cabinets, shelving and storage products for use in the home and office, has chosen Optimity Software to be its supply chain planning system of record.

The West Des Moines, Iowa-based company is implementing Optimity’s demand, production and inventory planning solutions as they move to improve service and sustain financial growth. While still in the early stages of the project, Hirsh is already seeing the business benefits of the Optimity Demand Planning solution.

Jeff Braaten, Director of Supply Chain and Data Analytics at Hirsh, explains, ‘Optimity is already having a big impact. For example, we can now make forecast adjustments at any level and it automatically filters through. With Excel spreadsheets and our existing legacy ERP system, this was something we simply couldn’t do before. It’s a huge time saver for us, giving us a much better picture of demand and forecast accuracy.’

Jeff adds that usability was one of the main reasons for choosing Optimity, ‘My team and I could immediately picture ourselves working with the Optimity solution. This was very important to us.’

Next up for Hirsh is the rollout of Optimity’s Supply Chain Optimizer solution. Braaten explains, “We need much better visibility of our supply chain data. This has been lacking in the past and there’s a real need to ensure that we have the right inventory, at the right place and at the right time for our customers. Optimity has been of great help here, both from a solution and also from an advisory point of view. Working with their team has really opened our eyes to what is possible, and we now see a clear route forward.”
