Specialty Bolt & Screw, the premier US sourcing and distribution company for specialized fastening hardware, has teamed up with Optimity for demand and replenishment planning. The goal is to reduce inventory and support growth.

Matt Larsson, VP of Supply Chain Operations at SBS, says, “Our customers rely on us to keep their production lines running. Some require delivery within 1-2 hours of placing an order. Optimity will give us the planning capabilities and forward visibility we need to service our customers and to optimize our inventory investment.”

SBS has licensed Optimity’s Demand Forecaster, Supply Chain Optimizer, and ABC Analyzer. Matt explains why his team chose Optimity. “Optimity’s user interface really stood out. We have ten distribution centers across three continents and over 15,000 SKUs, so scalability and ease of use were critical. The new system will speed up our planning process and allow our planners to focus on what’s most important.“

On working with Optimity, Matt says, “We got a good feeling about Optimity right from the start. They know the distribution industry inside-out, so working with them has been very easy. Nothing seems to be a problem.”

Mark Walker, MD, Optimity North America, is delighted to work with the team at SBS. “Optimity is a great fit for distribution companies like SBS with multiple sites, short customer lead times, and many SKUs. It’s been a great team effort, and we’re looking forward to the go-live next month.”
